Main purpose of the job

The Group Brand Manager (GBM) is responsible for defining and driving Group Brand Plans for existing portfolio,  ensuring strong alignment between global strategy and local execution across markets.

The role plays a critical link between Group and countries, with a strong focus on:

  • Building Brand Plans based on real market understanding
  • Supporting effective implementation across markets
  • Facilitate regular brand plan reviews with markets to monitor execution and performance of local Brand Plans in order to actively challenge and support course correction
  • Ensuring alignment between marketing plans and commercial objectives

The GBM works closely with local Marketing teams, General Managers and commercial teams to ensure that Brand Plans are actionable, adopted and translated into sales performance.

In addition, the GBM brings market insights and execution learnings back into Group to continuously improve Brand Plans and support Operational Marketing in defining effective in-market strategies.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  1. Global Brand Strategy & Positioning:
  • Contribute to defining brand positioning and strategy for products in market, in alignment with Head of Operational Marketing
  • Lead the development of Group Brand Plans, ensuring they are:  clear, structured and actionable for markets
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities and customer insights to refine positioning
  • Provide practical strategic guidance to markets to support effective execution
  • Ensure alignment of local teams with Group brand direction

2️.  Brand Planning & Market Integration

  • Lead the development of Group Brand Plans, integrating: market insights, local needs and constraints, performance learnings
  • Work closely with countries to: understand local market dynamics and ensure plans reflect real market conditions
  • Ensure Brand Plans are: relevant, adaptable and realistic for implementation

3. Brand Communication & Digital Strategy:

  • Develop brand guidelines and global toolkits for market execution
  • Support development of omnichannel frameworks (in collaboration with Operational Marketing)
  • Work with local teams to adapt and implement campaigns while maintaining consistency
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory and compliance requirements

4.  Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:

  • Act as a bridge between global and local marketing teams, ensuring alignment and knowledge-sharing.
  • Act as the ‘Brand custodian’ to ensure that Brand strategy is consistent across all channels including ecommerce and retail
  • Collaborate with R&D, regulatory, supply, compliance and commercial teams.
  • Support alignment between Brand Plans, Commercial priorities and Market execution

5. Local Brand Plan Tracking & Execution Follow-up

  • Monitor implementation of Brand Plans across all markets
  • Track how local Brand Plans are: Built, Adapted and Executed, via regular local brand plan reviews
  • Ensure visibility of: Progress vs plan and Key deviations or gaps
  • Work with markets to: Identify challenges and Drive improvements in execution

 

6. Link to Sales Plans & Commercial Impact

  • Ensure alignment between Group and Local Brand Plans and local Sales Plans
  • Track how marketing priorities are translated into: Commercial focus and Sales activities
  • Work with markets and commercial teams to: Ensure coherence between marketing and sales executio
  • Support the connection between marketing strategies and business performance

7. Performance Tracking & Brand Health:

  • Define brand specific KPIs and track across markets
  • Monitor: Brand performance, Execution effectiveness and Market evolution
  • Identify best practices and performance gaps across countries
  • Translate execution insights into clear recommendations to: Head of Operational Marketing and Strategic Marketing to input into future brand strategies and plans

Key Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business, Veterinary Science, or Life Sciences.
  • 5-8 years in brand management within the animal health, veterinary pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry.
  • Strong expertise in digital marketing, omnichannel strategy, and content development.
  • Cross-Cultural Agility: Experience working in multi-market environments
  • Experience collaborating with commercial teams and linking marketing with sales execution
